Nikola Krstevski, age 95, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, September 21, 2023. He was born a twin and one of seven children on December 18, 1927, in the village of Gorno Dupeni, Macedonia. In 1978, he moved his family to Columbus, Ohio to be with his brothers. Nikola and his brother, Krste were very close and their families lived together for several years. He retired from Mt. Carmel West Hospital after many years of hard work. He was a kind, patient, and gentle man with a heart of gold. His playful spirit was loved by all, especially children. His smile was as bright as sunshine and his laugh filled a room with joy. Above all, he was a loving father, grandfather "Dedo", great-grandfather and husband to his late wife of 72 years, Vesa Krstevska. He was the example of how the simplicity of a grateful heart can bring so much joy into an often complex world, this will live in our hearts forever.
Nikola is survived by his devoted daughters, Milica (Kire) Stojanovski, Vase (Mitko) Gruevski; grandchildren, Diana (Clint) Young, Ramona (Jesse) Kline, Pece Stojanovski, Zaneta (Leo) Renegado; great grandchildren, Evan, Caelen, Danica, Jett, Minka, Naomi and many other loving relatives here and in Macedonia. He is preceded in death by his wife, Vesa Krstevska; parents Pande and Neda Krstevski; brothers, Boris (Cena) Stavreff and Krste (Zivka) Stavreff; sisters, Nikolina (Boris) Bozinovski, Verga (Vlade) Petrevski, Cena (Mite) Tasevski and Rodna (Stojan) Jovanovski; nieces, Susie Stavreff, and Dana Dimovska; beloved relatives Sane Popovski, Ted Nastoff and Dance Cabilovski.
Calling hour will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at EVANS FUNERAL HOME 4171 E. Livingston Ave. followed by funeral service at 11 a.m. Reverend Radovan Cekovski officiating. Interment Glen Rest Memorial Estate.
A special thank you to the caregivers at Mt. Carmel Hospice that assisted in his care.
