Nikolas Robert Simone, 39, passed away suddenly on July 4th, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Nik's heart was split between his homes in
Williamstown, NJ and Old Forge, NY. He became an irreplaceable part of any community he touched. His kind, hardworking, and genuine nature afforded him many nicknames from the people who loved him most. Pickle, Ears, and Weasel are just a few.
Nik was a loving son and the best brother his siblings could ask for. He was the best dog dad to Nala, who will be lost without him. He will be missed by all that loved him in a way that can't be explained by words. He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother and father, Kelly Nichols and Robert Simone; their partners, Charles Nichols and Andrea Simone; his brother, Andrew Simone; his sister Alexa Simone-Selko; his brother in-law, Robert Selko; his nephew, Burke Selko; his extended family; Leslie Serao-Prybil, Ryan Prybil, (the late) Amanda Moos, Christian DeSant, The Puglia Family, The Nichols Family; his aunts and uncles; Barbara and Anthony Marsella, Jacqueline and John McBride, Patrick and Kathy Burke, (the late) Colleen Bittleman, (the late) Maureen Burke. Nik's memory will also live on through his cousins (Alysha Onesti, Jake McBride, Joey Marsella, Cory Marsella, Patrick Burke, Danny Burke, Michelle Dowd) and the vast community of friends that considered him family. He is predeceased by his grandparents, Josephine Simone, Robert Simone, Sandra Kleames, Thomas Burke; his cousins, Anthony Marsella and Lynnzi McBride.
Nik was born on May 25th, 1986, to a family that couldn't have been happier about his arrival into their arms. From the day he was born he kept them on their toes! He loved adventure and anything that had a motor. He not only could impeccably operate anything motorized, but he could fix anything too (AKA MacGyver). Nik was meticulous and anything he set out to do had to be done perfectly. He used his incredible intelligence to help anyone that needed anything. He was always running late because he was the person people called for help and if you needed him, he was there.
Nik was a valued member for the MUA of Williamstown, where he worked, but Nik's work never really stopped when the workday was over. During his off time, he would be found helping family and friends with anything from fixing a car to building a dock.
Throughout his childhood he loved visiting his mountain house, at Elk Mountain, with his family. He skied from a young age and snowboarded with his cousins. That is where his love for snowmobiling began.
His true love, other than Nala, was adventure. Nik overcame many obstacles in his life in the pursuit of his interests. He was fearless, resilient, and never let pain stop him.
Nik found his paradise in Old Forge in recent years. He was living his best life while snowmobiling, boating, and hiking. Not only was he a beloved member of his community at home, but he quickly became a "local" in Old Forge. In recent years snowmobiling led him to traveling the country and abroad. Nik's dream was to relocate to Old Forge as it was a place that brought him true joy. Nik lived his life bravely and unapologetically, but most importantly, loved by so many.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Thursday, July 10th from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the Bell-Hennessy Funeral Home, 420 South Main St., Williamstown. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 PM
