Francis Joseph Mulherin Jr., of Williamstown, NJ, passed away peacefully at the age of 75 and a half. Born on January 3, 1950, in Philadelphia, PA, Francis was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and beloved member of his community.

He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret (née Murphy), with whom he shared a life full of love, laughter, and purpose. He was the proud father of Megan (David) and Mollie (Scott), and the cherished grandfather of Ryan, Michael, and Emma, who brought him endless joy and pride. He was also a loving brother to Joseph (Patricia).

Francis was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Regina and his sister, Eileen Stern.

A proud veteran, Francis served in the U.S. Army Special Forces, carrying with him a deep sense of honor, discipline, and commitment to others. After his military service, he enjoyed a long and successful career with Verizon before retiring.

Francis was a man of deep compassion and service. He gave his time generously, volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House and member of the Jaycees, Lions Club of Williamstown, American Legion, Fountain of Youth Golf Group and the FBG. His dedication to helping others left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

For 55 years, Francis also took on a very special role in the hearts of many-bringing the magic of the season to life as Santa (Franta). Whether for friends, family, or children in local hospitals, he shared the joy of believing with grace, warmth, and an unforgettable twinkle in his eye.

Francis will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, his hearty laugh, his commitment to community, and the love he gave so freely to those around him. He leaves behind a legacy of service, joy, and love that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

A celebration of Francis's life will be held on Wednesday, August 27th from 6:00-8:00 PM and Thursday, August 28th from 9:30-10:30.AM at the Bell-Hennessy Funeral Home, 420 S. Main St., Williamstown. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00Am at Our Lady of Peace Parish / St. Mary's RC Church, 32 Carroll Ave. Williamstown. Interment Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in his memory to the Ronald McDonald House or the Lions Club of Williamstown.
