Nila L. Trick

Hastings - Nila Lou Trick, age 88 of Hastings passed away peacefully in her sleep December 23, 2025 at Rose Arbor, in Kalamazoo. Nila was born April 1, 1937 in Leamington, Ontario Canada. The daughter of Niall Gibson Heatherington and LaVerne Lorraine (MacHardy).
She attended college in Cleveland, OH and became a Medical Technologist. She then moved to Nashville, MI and proceeded to work at Pennock Hospital for 42 years. She married Gordon C. Trick on April 12, 1958.
Nila enjoyed crafting, crocheting and sold her crafts at several craft venues throughout the years. She also enjoyed gathering with her many friends at various locations. Nila was proud of her gardening around the home and loved to mow the lawn, which she did up until the Summer of 2025.
Nila was preceded in death by her parents, Niall and LaVerne (MacHardy) Heatherington, brothers Robert Ross and Roger Vernon, husband Gordon C. Trick, Grandsons David Kennith Eltzroth, Ryan Clark Eltzroth, and Niece Jayde Percy.
Nila is survived by her sister Sandra Percy, (Bill Kwasnycia) daughter Julie (Eric) Kiersey, son Roger (Maureen) Trick, Stepdaughters Brenda (Dave) Bellemore, Barbara (James) Wardlow. Grandchildren Levi Trick, Gabriel Trick, Karl Gielarowski, Hannah Trick, Kelli (Rob) Case, Broukk (Michael) Woellfer, Jayde Wardlow. Nila also had 9 Great Grandchildren.
Nila's family will receive friends on Saturday, January 3, 2026 from 10:00 11:00 AM at the Williams-Gores Funeral Home, where her funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place in East Hickory Corners Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the American Heart Association will be appreciated.
