Nils E. Theller, age 87 of Lancaster, passed away on Friday March 1, 2024 at Fairfield Medical Center. He was born October 17, 1936, in Weston, WV, son of the late Harold L. and Helen V. (Barnes) Theller. He was a graduate of Toronto (Ohio) High School. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering from Eastern Kentucky University. Nils was employed by Lancaster Glass, Anchor Hocking and retired from The Ohio State University. In his retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, crossword puzzles, and winning at Jeopardy. He especially loved time spent with his grandchildren and great grandsons.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Shirley (Stevens) Theller; sons, Eric Theller, of Macon, GA and Rob (Becky) Theller, of Fresno, CA; grandchildren, David (Emily) Theller, of Logan and Sarah Theller, of Empire, CO; great grandchildren, Eli Nils and Benjamin Theller; cousin, Paul (Suzanne) Stergar, of Jacksonville, FL; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Tom Theller.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2024 at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, 111 W. Main St., Amanda with Pastor Phil Stevens officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial contributions to any charity of their choice.
