Niurka Alfonso Acevedo, age 52, tragically passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025, in Madison, Tennessee, the victim of a violent act that took place at the entrance of Chadwell Elementary School, where she worked with dedication and care.
She was born on October 26, 1972, at the Maternidad Obrera Hospital in El Vedado, Havana, Cuba. From a young age, she stood out for her vocation of service and love for education, working as an elementary school teacher in Cuba. Niurka continued her work in the United States with the same passion, becoming a beloved custodian at Chadwell Elementary School, where her warmth left a lasting mark on students, staff, and families alike.
Those who knew her will remember her joyful spirit, love for the beach, family vacations, spending time with loved ones, elegance, appreciation for fine perfumes, and a special fondness for flowers.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 18, at 6:00 p.m. at Madison Funeral Home in Madison, TN.
The family deeply appreciates the outpouring of love, support, and solidarity during this difficult time and the generous donations made to help cover the funeral expenses.

Niurka Alfonso Acevedo, de 52 años, falleció trágicamente el Lunes,14 de Abril del 2025 en Madison, Tennessee, víctima de un acto de violencia ocurrido en la entrada de la escuela Chadwell Elementary School, donde trabajaba con dedicación y cariño.
Nació el 26 de octubre de 1972 en el Hospital Maternidad Obrera, El Vedado, La Habana, Cuba. Desde joven se destacó por su vocación de servicio y amor por la educación, desempeñándose como maestra de primaria en Cuba. En Estados Unidos, Niurka continuó su labor con la misma entrega, siendo una muy estimada conserje en Chadwell Elementary School, donde su calidez humana dejó una huella imborrable entre estudiantes, colegas y padres de familia.
Quienes la conocieron la recuerdan por su alegría, su gusto por la playa, las vacaciones en familia, los momentos compartidos con seres queridos, su elegancia, amor por los perfumes y su especial aprecio por las flores.
El servicio fúnebre se llevará a cabo el viernes 18 de abril a las 6:00 p.m. en Madison Funeral Home, ubicada en Madison, TN.
