Nodia G. (Anderson) Jumpp, 103, of Carmel, Indiana and formerly of Crystal Lake, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023 in Carmel, Indiana.
Graveside services with Military Rites will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Crystal Lake Cemetery, Crystal Lake, Iowa, with Greg Flood officiating.
Nodia Geneva (Anderson) Jumpp, 103, passed away December 21, 2023 surrounded by family and other loved ones. Nodia was born July 6, 1920, in Crystal Lake, Iowa to the late Paul and Laura Margaret Anderson.
She graduated high school and started nursing school from which she graduated in 1942 as a Registered Nurse. Being a patriot, she joined the US Army during WW II in 1943 as an army nurse. While stationed in the US, she treated many patients at a post hospital. One patient, an Army Air Corp service man, named Curtis Jumpp, became the love of her life. And, within two weeks, they were married just before Nodia was deployed to Europe.
Nodia was discharged as a Captain in 1945. She and her late husband were married 56 years and they lived in Crystal Lake, Iowa where their daughter, Paula Janan (Jumpp) Streeter, was raised. Paula followed Nodia's career, she also became an RN. Paula's son, Chad, as his mother and grandmother, became an RN too.
In addition to Paula and Chad, Nodia is survived by her great grandson, Ryan.
Nodia has lived in Indiana since 2012. In 2003, Nodia went on one of the Military Honor Flights.
She will be buried next to her husband in Crystal Lake, Iowa.
