Noel C. Scidmore, MD formerly of Rogers, AR passed away on Sunday, August 18,2024 in Lakeland, FL at the age of 65.
Noel grew up in Glen Falls, NY and was goal oriented and determined. He started coin collecting at a young age and was always an excellent student. In high school he excelled in track and cross country running. He still holds the record for the 880 and mile races at Glen Falls High School.
He obtained his degree in biology from Harvard University, his Medical Doctorate from Vanderbilt University and specialty training in radiation oncology from Stanford University. He practiced as a radiation oncologist for 18 years in Tallahassee, FL and Chattanooga, TN. During his active practice he designed and built two cancer programs and centers. He was truly a talented and compassionate man of service who loved his family and friends and church. He was an artist, author, lover of music and will be terribly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy, step-daughter Tanya Mims (Seth Mims), grandsons Braxton and Merrick, sisters: Sandra L. Scidmore, Susan Urrutia (Luis Urrutia), and Celeste Scidmore; niece Sara Holt (Jonathan Holt) and great nieces Aviana and Meila; step-nephew Luis D. Urrutia and step-niece Miren Urrutia. He is predeceased by his parents: Dr. Bruce Scidmore and Carolyn Scidmore and brothers Mark and Bruce Jr.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 17th at 11:00 am at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens in Rogers.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Rogers.
