Noella Klocko

Noella (Sands) Klocko, 85, of Thomaston, wife of the late Walter "Bob" Klocko, passed away Wednesday (November 15, 2023) after spending her final week surrounded by her family and the caring staff of UConn Medical Center. She was a long-time Harwinton resident, moving to Thomaston ten years ago, following a decade of luxuriating in Florida with her beloved husband.

She is survived by her two daughters, Noreen Gumula (Mark) and Rachel Bingham (Ron Rudek); four grandchildren, Kristopher Winalski, Amanda Winalski (Elliot Reed), Jared Gumula (Jessica), and Brandon Gumula; her three great granddaughters, Scarlett, Georgia, and Eloise; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Emma DeNote. Noella, affectionately known as "Grandma Christmas" will be remembered as a gifted seamstress, a talented story teller, and a generous spirit.

A private graveside service at the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery will be held to celebrate her life. She will be put to rest alongside her beloved husband, a veteran of the Navy. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society or the American Diabetes Association. Carlson Funeral Home, New Britain is assisting with arrangements.
