Noma “Dayle” Nixon, 73, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away on April 6, 2025. She was born in Shawnee on October 16, 1951, to Garth and Loretta (Brewer) Nixon.
After graduating from high school, Dayle attended OBU before finding a career as a stay-at-home mom. After that, she had a few different careers before retiring from Firelake this past winter.
Dayle married in 1973 and had two daughters, Jill Parsons and Jenèe Parsons.
In Dayle’s spare time, she enjoyed tending to her flower beds, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren; but her specialty was meme burgers and no bake cookies.
Dayle was preceded in death by her parents; younger sister, Tracy Nixon; brother-in-law, Johnny Cowan; nephew, Tyler Farris and niece, Angela Farris.
Dayle is survived by daughters, Jill Parsons and Jenée Parsons, both of Shawnee; grandson, Devin Parsons and wife, Kaitlyn, of Boston, MA; granddaughter, Destiny Parsons of Shawnee; granddaughter, Daeden Blomquist and husband, Jake, of Fayetteville, NC; grandson, Quintin Williams of Shawnee; two great granddaughters, Alaiya and Ariya, and a great grandson, Luka, expected in May 2025; sister, Marcia Cowan of Shawnee; twin sister, Gayle Riley and husband, Marvin, of Shawnee; brother, David Nixon of Shawnee; numerous nephews and nieces and a host of friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 9, 2025, noon – 7:00 pm, at AE Funeral Services Chapel, 603 W. Independence St., Shawnee, Oklahoma 74804.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 10, 2025, 10:00 am, AE Funeral Services Chapel.
A reception will follow from noon to 3:00 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 13500 Acme Rd., Shawnee, Oklahoma 74804.
