Nona C. McKinney

Nona Catherine McKinney, 91, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away February 11, 2025 peacefully at home. Nona was born in Augusta, GA on July 31,1933 to the late Robert Norris and Bessie Norris. Nona is preceded in death by her husband James H. McKinney and sister Helen Norris. She leaves to cherish her memory, Son Richard McKinney(Sabrina) and Sister Eloise Norris. Three grandchildren, Devin, Darrin, Hezekiah and four great grandchildren. Also many nieces, nephews and cousins.

After working for the State of Ohio (BWC) for over 25 years, Nona enjoyed an early retirement with her husband traveling on cruises, and enjoying life. When not traveling, Nona loved to work in her garden. She also joined a quilting club at Gillie Senior Community Center where she received many awards and certificates for her designs. A personality that was full of laughter, smiles and a wonderful sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a Funeral Service immediately following at Trinity Baptist Church 461 St Clair Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43203. Burial will follow in procession to Union Cemetery (New).
