Nora E. Johnson, passed away peacefully at her home on December 6, 2025, at the age of 69. Born February 5, 1956, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Nora brought warmth and creativity to the lives of all who knew her.
Nora's life was characterized by her extraordinary kindness and generosity, qualities that she extended not only to her family but also to her community. Her loving spirit was shared with all who knew her. She was chosen family to many people of all ages and walks of life. Nora affectionately referred to them as her network of "light beings".
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 33 years, R. Arlen Johnson, Esq. Together, they raised two sons who inherited her spirit of generosity and creativity. Dylan Johnson and his wife Kamiah, and Steven Johnson. Nora's legacy continues through her cherished granddaughter, Mya Arlene Johnson, daughter to Steven, who was the light of her life.
Nora is also survived by her brothers, Daniel Salomon, David Ron Salomon, Billy Joe SanGiacomo, Carlos Matos, Mario Matos; and her sisters, Rachel Salomon, Linda Matos, Rebecca Matos and Yasmine Matos (deceased). Her extended family of nieces, nephews and chosen family will remember her fondly for the love and joy she brought to the world. Nora lost her ability to walk in her mid 60's which brought to her an angel, her caretaker Eunice Ankrah. Sharing in fellowship and praise, the relationship they shared invigorated Nora's faith and gave her the opportunity to be cared for with the kind of love and compassion Nora shared with so many.
Nora was always growing her sphere and sharing her endless supply of unconditional love. She always went well beyond basic hospitality, instinctively becoming "Big Mama" to her boy's friend group. Nora's home was a second home to many and was always buzzing with celebration and joy. People gravitated to her for advice, love and understanding. She had a limitless supply for all. She always found creative ways to provide laughter, entertainment and fulfillment with crafts, day trips, nature walks and road trips. There never was a dull moment when you were hanging out with Nora. Her most distinguished art form was love, and it was larger than life, unmistakable until her last day.
For those who truly knew Nora, her memory is like a warm breeze and an endless hug. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have been a part of her life's journey. Nora's light will continue to shine in the hearts of those she leaves behind, guiding them with the same warmth and love she so freely gave during her time with us.
