Nora Kay Seal, a cherished beacon of love and faith in her community, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, in New Tazewell, TN, at the age of 75. Born on May 27, 1949, in Tazewell, TN, Kay's life was a testament to the enduring power of kindness and devotion.
Kay was a woman of great faith, having committed her life to the Lord at an early age. She was a dedicated and very faithful member of Head of Barren Baptist Church, where she found solace and purpose for over 65 years. Her unwavering belief was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her actions and comforting her in times of need.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years Dean Seal, Mother Alma Harmon, and her loving sons, Rickey Seal and his wife Michelle, and Brian Seal and his wife Jennifer. Her spirit will forever be reflected in the smiles of her grandchildren, Brittany, Cody, Olivia, Wynston, and Aiden Seal, and her great-grandchildren, Maddox Booth, Cora, Ezra, Jaxon, Elijah, Damon, Skyland, and Rue Seal.
Kay is preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Harmon, who no doubt welcomed her with open arms. She leaves behind a sister Peggy Harmon Bretz and brother Richard Harmon and his wife Judy.
Throughout her life, Kay embodied the essence of a loving and kind soul. She approached each day with a heart full of grace and a smile that could light up any room. Kay's presence was a gift to all who knew her, and her compassionate nature left a lasting impact on her family, friends, and community.
As we bid farewell to Kay, we are reminded of the beauty of a life well-lived. Her journey on earth may have ended, but her spirit continues to soar in the hearts of those she touched. Kay's love for her family, her faith, and her community will be recounted for generations to come, inspiring all who hear it to live with the same compassion and grace that she did.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Kay was a blessing to all, and while she will be greatly missed, the warmth of her love will continue to embrace us. May we find comfort in the knowledge that her light will never fade, for it shines brightly in the legacy she leaves behind.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday April 23, 2025, from 5pm till 7pm in the Claiborne ~ Overholt Funeral Home chapel with services to follow at 7pm with Rev Brandon Bolden and Rev Joe Russell officiating. Music will be provided by the Head of Barren Church choir and Daniel Miracle.
Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 11AM in the Irish Memorial Gardens.
