Nora Anne (Johnson) Vobr age 97 of Cresco, formerly of New Hampton, died Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Evans Senior Living Community in Cresco.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Holy Family Parish in New Hampton with Rev. Chris Podhajsky celebrating the Mass. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in New Hampton.

Friends may greet the family an hour prior to the Mass on Thursday at the church.

Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory have been entrusted with Nora's arrangements.

Nora was born in Wisconsin Rapids, Wi. in 1928 to a large farming family. The Speltz's moved to a farm south of New Hampton and remained there through most of her growing years. Nora had a personality and inspiring work ethic as evidenced by her work managing the lunch program at St. Joseph's elementary school for over 30 years.

It is still hard to not meet someone in New Hampton that does not remembers her work in the Rose Room and share fond memories. Nora was also an accomplished angler and loved her time in the outdoors. She won numerous contests and awards for her ability to catch big fish. As a parent she instilled in her children and grandchildren a solid line between good and bad. Her quiet care and compassion was well known and respected much more than she would ever admit.

Nora is survived by Cyril Speltz, brother and Mary Buckendahl, sister; her children, LaVonne Johnson-Edson, Dan Johnson, Don Johnson, and Nancy Flaskrud.

She was preceded by Lelan Johnson, husband, Ray Vobr, husband, her mother, Marie Speltz, father Ben Speltz, sister Loraine Ball, brothers Norman Speltz, Gordon Speltz, Benny Speltz, Len Speltz and many beloved pets.
