BOONVILLE - Nora M. (Lenaghen) Wiedmer, 96, widow of Harold and a longtime resident of Jackson Hill Road, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Clara and Richard Grower, while under the loving care of her family and Hospice.
Nora was born in Westernville on October 17, 1927, a daughter of John and Ada Jacobs Lenaghen. She attended Gifford Hill Rural School, later completing her education at Holland Patent Central School.
On February 22, 1947, Nora was united in marriage with Harold J. Wiedmer, at the Boonville United Methodist Church, where Rev. Robert U. Homes officiated. The couple settled on the groom's farm on Jackson Hill Road near Boonville, where Mrs. Wiedmer has since resided until she relocated to the home of Clara and Richard Grower, two and a half years ago. For many years, the couple operated a dairy farm and, in addition to being the mother of 10 children, Nora also worked on the daily farm operations. Mr. Wiedmer passed away, after a loving marriage that endured for 40 years, on April 28. 1987.
Mrs. Wiedmer was a member of the Boonville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking and providing for her family.
Nora's greatest joy in her life came from being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by nine children and their spouses, John Wiedmer, NC, Fred and Jeanne Wiedmer, Clara and Dick Grower, Robert and Dawn Wiedmer, Hal and Debbie Wiedmer, Katherine and Jason Crill, Jim and Mary Wiedmer, all of Boonville, Edward and Patricia Wiedmer, Clinton, Donald and Cynthia Wiedmer, Marcy, and a daughter-in-law, Amy Wiedmer. New Hampshire. Nora was predeceased by a son, David Wiedmer, who passed away on October 4, 2007. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. At the present time, Nora was joyfully anticipating the birth of three more great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a grandson, Eric, and great-granddaughter, Gracie. Also surviving is one brother, Carlton Lenaghen, North Carolina. She was predeceased by brothers, John, Victor, Loren, Lenard, Leon, Harold and Kenneth Lenaghen.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler St., Boonville, with interment to follow in Boonville Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
