Norene Wrenn Obituary

Published by Driscoll Funeral Home & Cremation Service on Dec. 18, 2015.
HAVERHILL – Norene M. (Breen) Wrenn, 93, of Haverhill, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at the Holy Family Hospital at Merrimack Valley. Norene was born in Lawrence, on August 2, 1922, the second youngest child of Irish immigrants, Eugene and Catherine (Fitzgerald) Breen. She attended St. Lawrence Grammar School and graduated Lawrence High School in 1939. She enjoyed a happy and loving childhood growing up in Lawrence. She loved to share stories about her Lawrence days that included her working in the Arlington and Marland Mills and dancing at the Crystal Ballroom. She also loved listening and dancing to the "big bands" at Canobie Lake and the Hampton Beach Casino. Norene was the cherished wife of the late William L. Wrenn who passed in 1977. They were married in 1949 and moved to Haverhill in 1955 to raise their family. Always residing in the Riverside section of Haverhill until her passing, Norene was proud of her role as a stay at home mother raising her four boys while her husband ran the family business, Wrenn Service Station on White Street. She and her family enjoyed great times at Salisbury and Hampton Beach and developed many lifetime friends from those days. She loved and cherished her Irish heritage and was devoted to her Catholic faith. She was a longtime parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church in Riverside. Norene's surviving family members include her four loving boys, William Wrenn and wife Kathleen of Hampton, NH, Stephen Wrenn of Haverhill, John Wrenn and wife Ginger of Haverhill and Kevin Wrenn and wife Penny of Haverhill; grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Julie, Brian, Jessica, Ryan, Katie, Jenna, Elyse and Daniel; great-grandchildren, Jack, Cora and Colton as well as many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Margaret App, Mary Bernhard, Joan Macklin and Kathleen Breen. Her funeral will be held Tuesday morning, December 22, 2015, beginning at the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 South Main Street, (Rte. 125), Bradford at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Church, Lincoln Avenue, Haverhill at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill. Visiting hours will be Monday at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Norene's memory may be made to either the Rett Syndrome Organization at www.rettsyndrome.org/get-involved/donate or to a charity of your choice.
