Noreta Haney

Passed away November 21, 2025 in the care facility where she resided in Wasilla, AK. Noreta was born March 19, 1938 at Twin Falls Idaho to Parents John Leroy Hansen and J. Wilda Cameron. Mom had good memories, and maintained a close relationship with her relatives who remained once they to Moses Lake, Washington. Noreta finished her last year of High School at the Frontier School Building which her children attended as the junior high.

Noreta started work at U and I Sugar as a tour guide. When the sugar plant closed in the late 70's she was working as a lab supervisor. She also worked in the early days of Soil Test. She raised her children alongside of her sister Maxine, the two were always together and referred to as the sisters.

She married Michael Yearout and welcomed sons, Kurt, Paul, Steven, and Craig. She was a resident of Moses Lake until her son and grandson moved her to be close to them in Alaska. She and Mike divorced, later marrying Clem Haney of Moses Lake. Clem was good to her and everyone else. Noreta was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her church ancestry includes Willie and Martin Handcart Co. She attended the Rose Street Chapel her whole adult life.

Noreta was proceeded in death by her parents, son Kurt, husband Clem, sister Maxine (Rulon Park) daughter Tonya Coykendall, and granddaughter Stacey, great granddaughter Jamie, her eldest nephew Gerald Brooks and his brother Scott. Her surviving family is son Paul Yearout, Anchorage, Steve Yearout (Dorothy) Moses Lake, Craig Yearout (Heidi) Kansas, daughter Laurie Haney (Texas) son James Haney (Theda) daughter Athena Coykendall Deer Park. Grandchildren, to great grandchildren, nephews, nieces. Noreta was also a great and grand aunt. Special mention of grandson Chris Yearout (Brina) and their children for the great love, care and sacrifice given to their GMA, also, son Steve that were by her side when she departed. And neighborhood son Shawn Finlay who often ate at her dinner table throughout the years.

Service is at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1036 West Rose Avenue, Moses Lake, WA 98837, December 6, 2025 at 2 PM. Interment is at Pioneer Memorial Gardens 14403 Rd 2 NE, Moses Lake, WA 98837. See website for obituary. , 87
