Norma Bickett Obituary

Norma Bickett
Born: December 27, 1933 in Ohio, IL
Died: February 6, 2023 in Princeton, IL
Princeton - Norma J. Bickett, age 91, of Princeton, Illinois, passed away Monday, February 6, 2023 at her childhood home, surrounded by her loving family.
Norma was born on December 27, 1931 in Ohio, Illinois, the daughter of Burton and Minnie (Kumpf) Thurston. She graduated from Princeton High School in 1949. She married Robert Bickett on February 25, 1950, in Kasbeer, Illinois.
She worked on her family dairy and grain farm alongside her husband until his death in August of 1992. She then worked as a CNA at Greenfield in Princeton, Illinois. Norma was a member of the Bureau County Farm Bureau, Illinois Farm Bureau, Ohio Booster Club, and the Hollowayville United Church of Christ.
To her family, she was the most cherished person in the world. Grandma Bickett's cookies were a staple at many school functions and her homemade raviolis were always a favorite at family gatherings. She loved watching all sports as she attended hundreds of her families' ball games throughout her entire life. She also enjoyed going to county and state fair cattle shows, going for drives to check out the crops, and she loved to sit on her front porch visiting with her neighbors, family, and friends. She was always a supportive mom, grandma, and great grandma. Although her seat in the gym will no longer be occupied, we know she will continue to cheer us all on from above.
She is survived by her three children; Debra Stull of Ohio, IL, Brad (Jolene) Bickett of Rock Falls, IL, and William (Sharon) Bickett of Princeton, IL; nine grandchildren, Brian (Shannon) Stull of Walnut, IL, Jeremy (Shannon VanDrew) Stull of Walnut, IL, Kendra (Paul Kessler) Stull of Princeton, IL, Bailey Bickett of Coralville, IA, Jalen Bickett of Iowa City, IA, Claire and Miley Bickett of Rock Falls, IL, Beth (Rob) Hammock of Princeton, IL, Burton (Krystal) Bickett of Princeton, IL; and six great-grandchildren, Emma, Rogan and Cash Stull of Walnut, IL, and Brayden, Braxton and Bryant Bickett of Princeton, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Burton and Minnie Thurston; husband, Robert Bickett; son-n-law, Roger Stull; and longtime family friend, Robert Lindenmeyer.
The visitation will be held from 9am to 11am on Friday, February 10th, 2023 at Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton, IL, with a memorial service to follow at 11am. A private burial will be held following the memorial service.
Memorials may be made in her memory to the Hollowayville United Church of Christ in Hollowayville, IL.
