Obituary published on Legacy.com by Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home from Feb. 14 to Feb. 16, 2026.
Norma Joan Buhler, formerly of
Warsaw, Indiana and currently of DeWitt, Michigan, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 13, 2026. She passed peacefully in the loving care of family and Delta Retirement Center, in Delta Township, Eaton County, Michigan at the age of 89.
One of nine children, Norma, was born on May 30, 1936, in
Lancaster, Pennsylvania to Mary Elizabeth (Mellinger) Weaver and Daniel Buckwalter Weaver.
Norma attended East Lampeter High School where she graduated in 1954. Following her high school graduation, she attended Philadelphia College of the Bible (PCB).
On June 23, 1956, she married Reverend Alva "Al" Dennis Buhler in
Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Together, they shared 52 beautiful years of marriage before Al passed away on April 30, 2009. Norma was a devoted wife and faithful partner in ministry. She was at his side as he served the Lord in various ministries first as the associate Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Jamestown, North Dakota in 1957. They then moved back to Pennsylvania in 1964 to serve in Child Evangelism Fellowship. In 1966, Al and Norma moved to Warsaw\Winona Lake, Indiana and served the Lord together in Lakeland Child Evangelism Ministries.
Norma had a special love for children and dedicated over forty years to sharing the Gospel with young hearts. She faithfully taught Good News Clubs, trained others in children's ministry, and served in fair ministry-always eager to tell others about Jesus. Her gentle spirit, steady faith, and servant's heart touched countless lives for eternity.
While her highest calling was serving the Lord and her family, Norma also worked faithfully outside the home. She was employed for a few years at Litchfield Creamery and later served as an administrative assistant as well as in a variety of other roles at Grace College spanning four decades. In every role, she was known for her diligence, kindness, and quiet testimony of faith.
She found joy in reading, planning family vacations, doing word search puzzles, watching America Says, and most of all, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her family was her earthly treasure, and her Savior was her eternal hope. Norma was a longtime member of Pleasant View Bible Church in
Warsaw, Indiana, where she loved worshiping alongside her church family.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Robert Alan (Sharla) Buhler (Kansas City, Missouri); two daughters: Beth Ann (Phillip) Crompton (Perkasie, Pennsylvania); Kristin Renee (Troy) Seyfert (Dewitt, Michigan); eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings, Don Weaver; Lois Weaver Fulmer; Dick Weaver; Jim Weaver; Carol Weaver; and Judy Weaver. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Al, her sister Dottie Weaver Baker and her brother Daniel Weaver.
