Obituary
Norma Jean (Lambert) Burton of San Antonio, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 23, 2023 at the age of 85 following a long battle with Alzehiemers. Norma was born on March 27, 1937 in Greenup, KY and grew up in a holler called, Funny Run.
Norma was a strong willed woman with a heart of gold. She loved cooking and helping people. She started working as a waitress when she was a young woman but that was not the only thing she did. She had her own business twice! The first one was an in-home daycare where she provided loving care for multiple children that she treated as her very own. Her 2nd business was doing residential cleaning for people that turned out to be more than customers, they became friends. Norma loved to cook and did so for many people. She knew how to cook for 2 or 200, there wasn't much in between.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde & Josephine Lambert and her son, Larry Mitchell.
Norma is survived by her husband of 47 years Edwin Burton AKA Arnold or Walter; daughter Loretta Martin (husband Ray); grandson Brennan "Monkey" League; and her siblings Lois Dean Worthington of Greenup, KY; Mary Lou Davis (husband Glenn) of Lenoir City, TN; JoAnn Patton of Columbus, OH; Lee Roy Lambert of Rustburg, VA and Linda Sue Ray of Westerville, OH, plus multiple nieces, nephews and friends.
Norma would tell you that she had a good life and she enjoyed life. She enjoyed traveling, watching Nascar, especially when the Earnhardt's were racing, cooking for anyone, listening to Southern Gospel music as well as some classic country like George Jones, Loretta Lynn, Vern Gosdin or Conway Twitty.
Norma was surrounded by loved ones who are grateful that God called her home after her long battle with Alzehiemers. She will be missed tremendously by those who knew and loved her but we know that we will see her again and in that we rejoice!
A funeral service will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, San Antonio, TX on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, by Bro. Clark Fooshee and Bro. John Berthold. Interment will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery. The family suggest that memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the charity of one's choice.
