Norma Jean Clardy, age 84, of Wynne, formerly of Palestine, died Thursday, November 6, 2025, at her home in Wynne. She had been in poor health for the past several years.
Mrs. Clardy was born June 13, 1941, in Forrest City, Arkansas, and was the daughter of Aaron Thigpen and Christine Elliott Thigpen. She lived in Palestine most of her life, was retired from the Time Herald, and was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.
Mrs. Clardy married Paul Clardy in 1966, and he survives her along with three brothers; Donald Thigpen of Palestine, Arnold Thigpen of Forrest City, and Donnie Thigpen of Little Rock, three sisters; Patricia Krzeminski of Illinois, Debbie Ramsey of Forrest City, and Rita McGee of Melbourne, Arkansas, four grandchildren; Nathan Thomas, Brittany Brown, and husband, Jared, Kenzie Clardy, and Charly Carter, and a host of others who call her mamaw. She was preceded in death by one son, Stacy Clardy, one daughter, Terry Thomas, three brothers and two sisters.
Services will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 2:00 P.M., Sunday, with burial in Bell Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, 6:00 till 8:00 P.M., at the funeral home, with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. You may log on to stevensfuneralhome.net for the online registry.
