Norma Jean Cooper Harp, age 89, of Victoria, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025. The family will host a Memorial Service on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at First Assembly of God, Edna, Texas.
Norma was born on April 19, 1935 to Clifford Roy Cooper and Hattie Lee Moore Cooper in Gladewater, Texas. On November 20, 1951 Norma married Melvin H. Harp, Sr. in Alice, Texas. They were blessed with 3 children.
Norma owned and operated her own answering service for oil and gas companies in South Texas. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crossword puzzles, and jigsaw puzzles. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Edna, Texas.
She is survived by her husband of 73 years Melvin H. Harp, Sr. and 3 children, Melvin H. Harp, Jr., Carol Diane Harp Harriman and spouse Dennis, and Pamela Harp Gill and spouse Travis; and her grandchildren Jeremy Harp and spouse Jo, Jamie Sadler and spouse Mike, Christopher Harriman and spouse Sheila, Patrick Harriman and spouse Kiesha; 16 great grandchildren, sisters-in-law Shirley Kaufman, Marie Nunley, and Janet Harp. Norma has numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, baby brother Lewis Paul; sisters Maudel Wren and spouse Marvin, Patsy King, Susan Crader and spouse Homer; nieces Sheila Clark and Nancy Wren; nephews Randy King, Homer (Buddy) Crader, and Marty Wren.
