Cambria
Norma Jean Drake, 86, of Cambria, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Herrin Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, July 28, 2024, at the First Apostolic Church of Cambria, with the Revs. R.H. Chitwood, Zach Cox, Charles Geuin, and her son, Kevin Drake officiating. Burial will be in Blairsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Sunday, at the church.
Memorial contributions can be made to the First Apostolic Church of Cambria.
Norma was born October 14, 1937, in Cambria, to Eugene "Turk" and Ida Pauline (Kirk) Hall. She married Robert Lee Drake on December 31, 1953, in Crainville. Together they shared 64 years until his passing on November 24, 2018.
She is survived by her daughters, Paula (Rev. R.H.) Chitwood, and Kim (Steve) Loyd; son, Kevin (Debbie) Drake; grandchildren, Kaci (Keenan) Clark, Michelle Drake, Megan (Zac) Cram, Fayth (Rev. Charles) Geuin, and Grace (Rev. Zach) Cox; great-grandchildren, Elsie Clark, Olin Clark, Caplan Clark, Clemmie Clark, Silas Cram, Drake Geuin, Declan Geuin, Juddsyn Cox, Jennings Cox, and Josey Cox; and sisters, Vicki (Ed) Haynes, and Phyllis Russell; plus nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Robbie Drake; and grandson, Michael Drake.
Never one to shy away from hard work, Norma had worked at Goss Appliance, Universal Match Factory, and in the County Clerk's office at the Williamson County Courthouse. Norma also volunteered in serving others at the Cambria Food Pantry and delivering Meals on Wheels.
Norma was the oldest living founding member of the First Apostolic Church in Cambria. She was devout in her faith and love for her family.
She also enjoyed reading, gardening and cooking. "Well done, thy good and faithful servant."
