She was born in Stockton, California, on August 29, 1942, to Tommie and Henry Dye. She had four brothers and three sisters, along with countless nieces and nephews.
Norma enjoyed tending her garden and fruit trees, canning, and was an avid dog lover. In her later years, she also enjoyed birdwatching. She loved gospel music and old westerns.
