Norma Viola Gonzalez, (74yrs), of El Paso, TX was called home to her lord and savior on December 11, 2022.
Norma was born on August 21, 1948, to Alejandro and Elvira Melendez in Marfa, TX. She spent her adolescent years in Valentine, TX. After graduating from Valentine High School in 1966, she studied Business Administration at Sul Ross State University.
She landed a job at ASARCO as a Benefits Administrator and spent 20 years in the profession. In the summer of 1970, she met the love of her life, Arturo Gonzalez Jr. They were married on June 21, 1973 and went on to have 2 beautiful girls. Veronica Melissa Gonzalez born on October 7, 1975, and Erica Celina Gonzalez born on July 7, 1981
After retiring in 1999, Norma devoted her life to her family and faith. She was a devoted Catholic and she loved to read, watch sports (especially her Dallas Cowboys), and enjoyed watching her grandchildren play their respective sports.
Norma was predeceased by her father and mother and is survived by her husband Arturo, daughters; Veronica and Erica (Michael Joel Leon Guerrero Sr.), grandchildren (Gabriella Rico, Kailani Leon Guerrero, and Michael Joel Leon Guerrero Jr. and her sister Diana Granado (Cassandra Melendez, Leroy Granado).
As a devoted Catholic she is now walking alongside our Savior Jesus Christ. As we say our final good byes we would like our family and friends to join us.
Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 8:00pm with a Rosary at 6:00pm on Thursday December 15, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Drive. Funeral Mass will begin at 8:00am on Friday, December 16, 2022 at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1700 George Dieter Drive. Committal Service to follow at 9:30am at Fort Bliss National Cemetery (East Shelter).
