NORMA LEE HARDY, age 89, of Washington Court House, Ohio, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Carriage Court Assisted Living.
Norma was born on May 18, 1936, in Summit County to the late William Jewett and Mary Margaret (Sprankel) Jewett. Norma attended New Straitsville High School, and later worked for Wilson Photography Studios in Nelsonville, Ohio. Norma pursued various hobbies throughout her life, including cooking, baking, crafting, photography and traveling; however, her most vital role in life was that of wife, mother, and friend. As Norma's family has sorted through her treasured possession, they have discovered many journal entries that testify to her profound love and devotion to her family.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her first husband Donald L. Godenschwager and her late husband of 67 years, Darl R. Hardy, as well as her brother, William Jewett, and sister Bonnie Love.
Survivors include her sons, Donald (Linda) Godenschwager, Jim Hardy, and John (Pam) Hardy; grandchildren, Donald Lee III (Sara) Godenschwager, Erika Godenschwager, Elizabeth (Eric) Deis, and Amanda (John) Brookhuis; great-grandchildren, Lydia (Jake) Fisher, Landon Godenschwager, Connor Godenschwager, Wyatt Liston, Carter Liston, and Arjen Brookhuis; and great-great granddaughter Caroline Fisher. Also surviving are sister-in-law Molly Jewett, bother-in-law William Hardy and several nieces, nephews, cousins, a host of friends and special neighbors.
A graveside memorial service will be held at the Washington Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Summers Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent to www.summersfuneralhome.com
