Norma Jean "Jeannie" Harper

June 30, 1937 - August 9, 2025

Udall, Kansas - Norma Jean "Jeannie" (Hobbs) Harper, age 88, passed away at her residence in Udall, Kansas on August 9, 2025. Norma Jean was born on June 30, 1937 to James Arthur and Leila Jane Hobbs.

She attended high school in Indianapolis, Indiana. Norma Jean was known for her love of family and love for her sweet dog, Kona. She had a passion for gardening and working outside taking care of her yard and landscaping. Norma Jean loved being outside and listening to the birds and watching nature.

Norma Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Vallon Harper; her parents James Arthur and Leila Jane of Indiana; five sisters: Bernice (Robert) Wickersham; Mary "Louis" (Ed) Weis of Indiana; Violet "Deloros" of Indiana; Juanita; and Kathleen "Jeanetta"; three brothers: James Jr; Irvin William "Henry"; and Donald Baily.

Norma Jean is survived by her four sons: Russell (Debbie) of Broaddus, Tx; Eddie (Kim) of Derby, Ks; Donnie (Fong) of Broaddus, Tx; and Dave of Udall, Ks; four daughters: Sharron, Suzetta, Lajuana all of Costa Rica and Vallerina (Alan) of Udall, Ks; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 21 at Independence Cemetery, Vinson, Oklahoma.

Memorial contributions may be made to Independence Cemetery Association; C/O Kristi Kromer-Jones; 14396 N 1700 RD; Vinson, OK 73571.
