Norma J. (Hewitt) Martin

Norma J. (Hewitt) Martin, age 92, born in Switzerland County, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2025, in La Grange, Kentucky. She was a cherished member of her community and a beloved family member, whose life was marked by kindness and devotion.
Norma believed family first and her six-kids were a high priority. She visited a trade school, many colleges, and universities as the kids continued to higher education. She worked many jobs finishing with 25+ years as an assembler at Grote in Madison, Indiana. After her retirement, she embraced her passions and found joy in numerous hobbies, including ballroom dancing, continued learning/ reading, gardening, and sewing. Above all, she treasured the time spent with her family, nurturing strong bonds and creating lasting memories.
Norma is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Glennis Marye (Dave) of Bedford, KY, April Martin Weaver of Madison, IN, and Tina Martin (Sheila) of Bedford, KY; her sons, Jeffrey Martin (Janice) of St. Louis, MO, and Anthony Martin (Susan) of Louisville, KY; her sister, Ruth Proctor of Carrollton, KY; her sister, Stella Banks (Steve) of Vevay, IN; and her brother, Gene Hewitt (Sharon) of Taylorsville, KY. She also leaves behind a legacy of love through her eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by, her parents, Stanley & Mary Etta Hewitt, her husband, James C Martin, her son, Kerry Martin; and brothers, Stan, David, Claudie B., and Danny Hewitt. Norma also mourned the loss of her granddaughter, Ashley Robinson.
A visitation to celebrate Norma's life will be held on April 19, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave, Carrollton, KY. 41008. Interment will follow with burial at the Carrollton IOOF Cemetery.
