Norma Jean King, 89, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025.

She was born May 16, 1936 to Dale and Mary (Sturm) Wynn in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Norma married Dorril "Ace" King on September 13, 1958.

Before dedicating herself fully to the upbringing of her children, she worked for Swift and Co. and then later worked at Rod's Hallmark.

Norma attended St. Francis, Cathedral and graduated from The Convent of the Sacred Heart. She was an active member of Cathedral of St. Joseph where she practiced her faith with devotion.

Big Lake was a treasured retreat where she enjoyed countless cherished moments with friends and family. Renowned for her snickerdoodles, her grandchildren eagerly anticipated the start of each school year, knowing it would bring the sweet tradition made especially for them. Antiquing was one of her passions, which reflected her appreciation for history and craftsmanship.

A testament to her character was the weekly 5 O'clock happy hour every Friday, where Norma's laughter and Ace's storytelling were the highlight, creating memories that her loved ones will hold dear forever. Her role as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents and numerous beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.

Survivors include her husband, Ace; children, Rusty King (Reneé) and Amy Bell (Casey); grandchildren, Regan Atkins (Jeff), Molli Bell (Jay) and Bailey Bell (Evan).

Memorial Mass and Public Livestream 10:00 A.M. Thursday, October 9, St. Joseph Cathedral Catholic Church. The family will gather with friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 8, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Joseph Catholic Academy.
