December 18, 1932 – December 22, 2025
Norma Lane (Sally) Marx, a beloved cornerstone of the
Santa Fe, Texas community, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025, just four days after celebrating her 93rd birthday.
Born on December 18, 1932, Norma was a woman of deep faith, a vibrant sense of humor, and a legendary spirit of hospitality. As a founding member of All Saints Episcopal Church, she helped build the spiritual foundation of her community, serving her church family with dedication for over half a century. She taught multiple generations of local residents throughout her career as a Texas history, world history, and geography teacher with Santa Fe ISD.
Norma's kitchen was the heart of her home. A passionate cook, she was renowned for her homemade jams and jellies, but was most celebrated for her baking. Her signature lemon and pecan pies, along with her decadent cheesecakes, were the highlight of every gathering. Most dear to her family was her Christmas fudge, which served as a cherished stocking stuffer for her children every year-a tradition of sweetness and love that defined the holiday season.
A true adventurer at heart, Norma saw the world as a place to be explored with those she loved. She made multiple trips across North America with her husband, Robert Lee, along with several memorable trips with her extended family and dear friends. In her later years, her adventures became more local; she was a familiar and friendly sight around town, taking daily road trips with her beloved dog, Larry, as they patrolled the streets of Santa Fe together.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Galen Henry and Lena (Berger) Remmers, Sr.; her beloved husband, Robert Lee Marx; her brother, Galen Henry Remmers, Jr.; and her cherished daughter, Rhonda Lane Marx.
Norma's legacy of laughter, faith, and sweet traditions is carried on by her family, who will forever remember her joyful spirit. She is survived by her sons, Robert Lee "Rocky" Marx and Paul Anthony Marx; her daughter, Catherine Lynn; her granddaughter, Taylor Lane; her grandson, Eric Anthony; her great-grandson, Zayne Lee Sanders; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and nephews.
The family would like to extend their deepest thanks to Carla Arthur devoted service and care to our mother. We also wish to thank the staff at Bayou Pines Care Center for their compassionate care and nurturing of mother in her final months.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 14, 2025, at All Saints Episcopal Church, 10416 Highway 6,
