Norma Jean Nollie

In loving memory of Norma Jean Nollie (Story), who was born on July 30, 1946 in Birmingham, Alabama to James Albert Story and Ivee Crowder (Tubbs). She was a God fearing woman, who passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025 after a long battle with lung cancer. She was a kind and generous woman who always put the needs of her family and others first. She always wanted to live an ordinary life. Her warm smile and gentle nature will be deeply missed.

As a young girl she attended Carrie A.Tuggle elementary and A.H.Parker High schools in Birmingham, AL. She went on to work as a records clerk at the University of Alabama Birmingham and St. Vincents Hospital.

She is survived by her children Tommy N. and Vernon R. Nollie, grandchildren Thomas A., Candace M., Nicholas A. and DeCoryen Nollie, and great grandchildren DeCoryen Nollie Jr., and Payton Lynch. Cousins Ronald Tubbs, Benny Ragland Jr., Alvin, Andre and Tony Wallace.

The family would like to thank the staff at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center and Gentiva Hospice Care for their compassionate care during Norma's illness. We would also like to thank Pastor Eddie Gibson and the Brewster Road Community Church family for all of their prayers and support along with countless visits to the hospital, her home or just a kind phone call or text message. It truly means a lot and we thank you all very much.

In closing the family would also like to say, cancer may have taken her body, but it could not touch her soul. Rest in peace, we all love you and hope to see you again some day.
