Norma Jean Padgett

Norma Jean Padgett, passed away peacefully at her home on April 28, 2025.

Norma was born on October 27, 1936, in Jasper, Indiana. Throughout her life, Norma cultivated a passion for nature, particularly expressing her love for flowers through her meticulous gardening and yard work. These hobbies not only brightened her surroundings but also served as a testament to her nurturing spirit.

Norma was a devoted wife to her husband of nearly 59 years, John Padgett. She is survived by her children, Michele Padgett and her husband, Troy, and William Padgett and his wife, Chrissy, who carry forward her legacy of love. Her four grandchildren, Milleigh Padgett, Jake Padgett, Abigail Padgett, and Emma Padgett, were a source of immense joy for her. Norma is also survived by her brother, Donnie Streicher and his wife, Mary Jo, and sister, Susie Leighty. She was predeceased by her parents, Arnold Streicher and Victoria Marks Streicher, as well as her brother, Kenny Streicher.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, at the funeral home. Cremation will follow in accordance with Norma's wishes.
