In Loving Memory of Norma Jean Richardson

Norma Jean Richardson, beloved mother and cherished member of the Diana community, passed away on January 21, 2024, at the age of 90. Born on March 7, 1933, Norma Jean was known for her warm heart, culinary skills, and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ.

Norma Jean was a pillar of the community, owning and operating her own café in Diana during the late 80's. Norma Jean's café was a haven for locals who fondly remember her as the master behind the "Best Hamburger Ever Made." No matter if someone had money or not, Norma Jean ensured that no one left her café hungry. Her generous spirit and delicious home-cooked meals earned her a special place in the hearts of her customers.

Her culinary talents extended beyond the café. Norma Jean's sweet potato pie recipe was even published in the book The Best in Texas, a testament to her exceptional cooking abilities. Nanny, as many affectionately called her, would often serenade her loved ones with her beautiful voice while preparing meals in the kitchen. Her melodies provided a soundtrack of love and warmth that will forever resonate in the hearts of Barry, Michael, Bobbie, Susan, and her entire family.

Norma Jean's family meant the world to her. Whether it was gathering around the table for a meal, engaging in spirited card games, or joyfully celebrating all the holidays, she so cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Her unconditional love and devotion to her family were truly admirable and touched the lives of all who knew her.

Norma Jean's unwavering faith in Jesus Christ was a guiding light throughout her life. Even in her final days, she continued to proclaim "Hallelujah" with fervor and conviction. Her faith was an inspiration to all, exemplifying the importance of trust and devotion in one's spiritual journey.

Norma Jean Richardson was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Myrtle Roberts, her husband Leon Cleveland Richardson and daughter Wanda Faye Richardson.

Norma Jean will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. She is survived by her loving children, sons; Barry Richardson (Denise), Michael Richardson (Jana) daughters; Bobbie Easley, and Susan Semar, all of whom she adored and shared countless precious memories. Norma Jean will also be missed by her siblings, sisters; Nell Varner and Martha Kelly and brother Dale Roberts (Janet).  Also left to cherish her memory are 19 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.

A memorial service and celebration of Norma Jean's life will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Walnut Creek Baptist Church in Diana, Texas at 1:00 P.M. with a gathering of friends and family in the Reception Hall following the service.

May her soul rest in eternal peace and her loving memories forever shine upon us.
