Norma Schumann

1936 - 2025

Norma McAndrew Schumann passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, the 23rd of August 2025, in Houston, Texas. She had just celebrated her 89th birthday.

Norma was born in Briggs, Texas on August 17th, 1936, the youngest of six children in a loving Christian family. She dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her husband, Calvin, and their three children.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Calvin Schumann; parents, Emmon McAndrew and Edna Williams McAndrew; brothers, Lyall, Varion, and Modell; and sister, Marie McAndrew Steele. Norma is survived by the family who will forever love her dearly: son, Todd (Caren); daughters, Rex Ann Hill and Brooke (Derek) Halverson; brother, DeWayne; grandchildren, Travis (Courtney) Schumann, Matthew Schumann, Andrew (Rylie) Hill, Emma Hill, Michael Halverson, Mack Halverson, and William Halverson; and great-grandchildren, Blair Schumann, Weston Schumann, and Otto Hill.

Norma's greatest joy came from spending time with her family and fostering a loving environment. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Norma was affectionately known as Omie to her grandchildren. Her generosity and warm spirit touched the lives of many.

The family would like to recognize and extend their enormous gratitude to the nurses and aides at The Abbey at Westminster Plaza for their kind and compassionate care.

There will be a graveside service at 11:00 Saturday morning, August 30, 2025, at the Wilke Cemetery in Albert, Texas.
