Norma Olga Sierra, 73, passed away on July 8, 2025 in Abilene, Texas surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Sunday, July 13, 2025 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South. The funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Monday, July 14, 2025 at Graham Street Church of Christ, 2158 Graham Street, Abilene, Texas. Interment will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.

She was born on July 24, 1951, in Abilene, Texas, to Sylvester and Consuelo Gomez.

A proud graduate of Abilene High School, Norma remained a loyal fan of the Abilene Eagles throughout her life—an Eagle fan till the very end. Her dedication to her community was evident in her work as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for the City of Abilene’s Health Department and later for Betty Hardwick. Her compassionate care and kind heart touched countless lives over the years.

To know Norma was to love her. Known affectionately by many as “Tia,” she held that special place in the hearts of not only her family but also countless friends and neighbors. Her warm spirit and open heart made everyone feel like family.

She married the love of her life, Jose. Together they shared 54 beautiful years of marriage, building a life full of love, faith, and laughter. He was her dance partner for life.

Norma was a woman of many talents. She loved to bake, sew, and decorate for events—there was truly nothing she couldn’t do. She had a creative spirit and a generous heart that made every gathering more beautiful and every life she touched a little brighter. She loved taking cruises and the adventure that provided her.

A lifelong member of Graham Street Church of Christ, Norma’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She loved Jesus with all her heart and soul and lived out her beliefs through kindness, humility, and service to others. She was a true woman of God.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester and Consuelo Gomez; and her two sisters, Elida Gomez, and Marie Gomez.

Norma is survived by her husband, Jose Sierra; her special nieces and nephew, Sylvia Molina, Eloy Gomez and Margarita Molina; great nieces and nephews, Eric Gomez, Carter May Rowe (husband Max), Katalina Molina, Cruz Molina and Adelina Molina; and very special cousin, Merle Pallarez; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, God Children, and friends.

Norma will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her legacy of love, strength, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
