Norma Stotts Obituary

MAUMELLE - Norma Jean Carner Stotts, 90, of Maumelle, formerly of Jonesboro and Lake City, passed away Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025. Born Oct. 1, 1934, to Albert "AB" and Ora (Adcock) Carner, she was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 55 years, Lloyd John Stotts, Jr., daughter Patricia JoAnn Panneck, and several siblings.

She is survived by her children, Daniel Stotts of Bauxite, David Stotts (Lisa Barnett) of Jonesboro, and Melissa Cole (Randall) of Maumelle; grandchildren, Susanna Cole of Maumelle and Michael Jon Panneck of Jonesboro; and brother, Marion "Buddy" Carner of Lake City.

Norma was a 1952 honor graduate of Lake City High School and earned her master's in Early Childhood Education from Arkansas State University. She taught kindergarten for 25 years with Jonesboro Public Schools and later worked in Adult Education. She was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church of Jonesboro and the JOY Sunday School class in Maumelle. Norma also excelled in the Arkansas Senior Olympics, earning state and national recognition in badminton.

Visitation will be today, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Christ Church of Central Arkansas, Maumelle, with a celebration of life at 7:30 p.m. Graveside service will be Friday, Sept. 5, at 10 a.m. at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Arkansas Senior Olympics, or Alzheimer's Arkansas.
