Norma J. McCloy Whipkey, 82, of Clarksburg passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025.

She was born in Rosemont on October 9, 1942, a daughter of the late Ralph and Freda Petroff McCloy.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Robert Wayne Whipkey, whom she married on July 4, 1962 and preceded her in death on December 8, 2023.

Surviving are one daughter, Amy Marple and her husband Scott of Lost Creek; three grandchildren, David Marple and his wife Stephanie of Clarksburg, Kasey Rawlings and her husband Noah of Clarksburg, and Brittany Marple and her fiancé Michael Cain of Lost Creek; four great grandchildren, Ava, Fallon, Harlee and Zoey; one sister, Linda Haynes and her husband Steve of Bridgeport; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph McCloy, Jr. and Sammie McCloy; and three sisters, Agnes Hill, Mary Ann Moore and Sandra Kay McCloy.

Mrs. Whipkey was a graduate of Flemington High School and was a retired Loan Officer with BB&T Bank. She was a member of the Stealey United Methodist Church for over 50 years.

Norma was a fan of the New York Yankees and WVU Basketball and was involved in her grandchildren's sporting events. She enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles and sudoku and traveling with her husband.
