Norma Jean Willmes

Norma Jean Willmes was born in Barnsdall, Oklahoma, on November 27, 1927, to Dennis and Ruth Slagle. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at Kaiser Santa Clara Comfort Care on July 18, 2024, at the age of 96.
Norma Jean met her husband, James Fredrick Willmes, when she worked at Drew Canning Company, where he was a truck driver. They were married for 59 years until Jim passed in 2014. They bought a home in Campbell, where they raised a family, and she lived there for 65 years. She led a full and loving life, surrounded by numerous family members and friends. Norma Jean volunteered countless hours for various causes, provided mentorship, and was a selfless caregiver. She was known for her sense of humor and smile.
Norma Jean is survived by her four devoted children: Ronald, Sheila Macy (Tom), John (Gina), and Jamie; eight adoring grandchildren: Larena, Robin, Sherry, Melissa, Michelle, Paul Thomas, Robert, and Matthew; eleven cherished great-grandchildren (with the twelfth arriving any day now): Jonathon, Derek, Zane, Mallory, Rylee, Paige, Avery, Ryder, Ruiz, Silas, and August; and two beautiful great-great-grandchildren: Brody and Hudson. She is also survived by her loving brother Al (Jamesetta) Slagle.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the Darling Fischer Campbell Memorial Chapel, 231 E. Campbell Ave., Campbell, CA 95008. In lieu of flowers, donations are graciously accepted in honor of Norma Jean to Alcoholics Anonymous Intergroup at 274 E. Hamilton Ave. #D, Campbell, CA 95008.
