Yesterday

I was a classmate and friend of Norm throughout our teens and into our early 20's. We played on the St. Bernard football team together, although I don't think either of us weighed over 150 pounds, and that was for interior linemen. For a while after high school we played chess. Neither of us was very good, but we enjoyed trying to outwit one another.

After leaving Michigan in the early 1970's, I did not see Norm again until our HS class reunion in 2012. After that, I would get together with Norm, Bob Pedrosi, Ray Trahan and Norm's best friend Tom Stansberry, whenever I would find myself in Michigan visiting my siblings. It was always good to see him and the other guys again, and compare memories of our youthful adventures together. I will miss him, and our telephone chats over the last several weeks.
