Norman Charles Angner

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Norman Charles Angner, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 4th, 2026, at the age of 81 in St. Clair Shores, MI. Norm was born on November 29th, 1944, in Detroit and remained a resident of Michigan throughout his life.

Norm served honorably in the U.S. Army, a commitment that underscored his dedication to his country. After his service, he devoted many years as a diligent and respected factory worker, a role in which he took great pride.

He was a devoted brother and cherished his family immensely. Norm is survived by his sisters Joan (the late Don) Sly and Bernice (Tony) Flofsky, sister in law Estelle Angner. He was a beloved uncle to 22 nieces and nephews, who will always remember his kindness, humor, and the guidance he provided.

He was preceded in death by his father Nicholas Angner, his mother Theresa Angner, and his brother Edmund Angner. They welcome him with open arms into their eternal rest.

A visitation will be held at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church in St. Clair Shores, MI, on Wednesday, February 25th, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:30 am, with a Funeral Mass to follow at 10:30 am. Arrangements have been made by Wasik Funeral Home-Shelby Township, who have served the family with compassion and care.

Norm's warmth, laughter, and love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and his legacy will forever be cherished.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Norm's memory to a charitable organization of your choice.

Earlier today

I was a classmate and friend of Norm throughout our teens and into our early 20's. We played on the St. Bernard football team together, although I don't think either of us weighed over 150 pounds, and that was for interior linemen. For a while after high school we played chess. Neither of us was very good, but we enjoyed trying to outwit one another.

After leaving Michigan in the early 1970's, I did not see Norm again until our HS class reunion in 2012. After that, I would get together with Norm, Bob Pedrosi, Ray Trahan and Norm's best friend Tom Stansberry, whenever I would find myself in Michigan visiting my siblings. It was always good to see him and the other guys again, and compare memories of our youthful adventures together. I will miss him, and our telephone chats over the last several weeks.
