Norman Thomas Barnes, 73, of Maryville, Tennessee, left us peacefully On March 9th surrounded by his beloved family. Norm will always be remembered for his kindness and willingness to help others, even strangers. He shared a fun loving and strong bond with his children and his Brother and Sisters. He enjoyed his motorcycle trips and seeing historical sites. His career consisted of 20 years in the Air Force at home and abroad. On April 20,2002, Norm married the love of his life, Sandra, on the Natchez Trace.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Frances Barnes.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; daughters, Audrey Jackson, Davina Barnes, and Cindy Mendoza; sons, Chris Barnes and Aaron Barnes. Two stepchildren, Sandy Russell and Nicholas Calvo; Grandchildren, Logan and Connor Jackson, Joshua and Hanna Guitreau, Izabelle, Anthony, and Adrian Mendoza, Kristina and Gracie Barnes, Jamison and Nicholas Russell; Brother, Ronald Barnes; Sisters, Heather Neal, Kathy Thompson, Bonnie Brodie and Tina Southards.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 12:00 until 1:00 PM in the Smith Chapel. A Celebration of Norman’s life will follow at 1:00 PM with Rev. Gary Thomas officiating.
