Norman Dooley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Garr Funeral Services on Feb. 11, 2026.
Norman "Mike" Dooley, age 73, passed away peacefully February 10, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on September 29, 1952, and lived a life defined by dedication, generosity, and quiet strength.

Mike spent more than 50 years as electrician, a career that reflected his strong work ethic, problem-solving mind, and willingness to help others. Even after retiring, he never truly stopped working- he was always ready to lend his skills, especially when his children needed help renovating their homes. For Mike, service wasn't just a job, it was a way of life.

Family was the center of Mike's world. He cherished time spent attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events, proudly cheering from the sidelines and never missing an opportunity to show his support. And he loved the freedom of the open road while riding motorcycles.

Mike is survived by his father, Norman C. Dooley; his devoted wife Lonetta Dooley; his children Darin (Samantha) Dooley, Garrett Dooley, and Jennifer (Ryan) Stettenbenz; his sister Barbara Calfee; and his beloved grandchildren Morgan Dooley, Cole Stettenbenz, Nolan Stettenbenz, and Tessa Stettenbenz.

Those who knew Mike will remember him as steady, kind, and always willing to help-someone you could count on without question. His legacy lives on in the family he loved deeply the work he took pride in, and the countless lives he touched through his quiet acts of care and dedication.

He will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at the Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172) with interment to follow in Miller Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
