Norman Edwin Euse

March 24, 1940 - February 10, 2024

Norman Edwin Euse, 83, of Silver Creek, NE passed unexpectedly on February 10, 2024, at Genoa Hospital.

Services will be as follows: Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 14, from 4-6pm at St. Lawrence Church with a 6 o'clock vigil. The funeral will be held on Thursday, February 15, at 10:30am at St. Lawrence Church with the internment St. Lawrence cemetery.In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials are suggested to the Silver Creek Fire Department or to the family for future designation.

Norman was born on March 24, 1940, on Easter Sunday, to Edwin and Loretta (Stachura) Euse. He wasn't the bunny his older sister had planned for, but she was still happy. He attended Rural District #21 near Shelby, NE and graduated from Highland High in Albuquerque, NM in 1957. He married Karen (Smith) Euse on April 15, 1961, at Sacred Heart Church in Shelby. They opened Silver Creek Lumber and Farm Supply in 1965 where he worked until it closed in 2020.

He was a member of the Silver Creek Fire Department serving as Chief for several years, Silver Creek School Board, Merrick County Supervisor and Parish Council member at St. Lawrence Church.

He loved attending his kids and grandkids activities. A special treat he always enjoyed was when his great grandchildren would come to visit him. He was always happy to meet up and have conversations with his friends. He also enjoyed traveling, going on Rod Runs and golf trips. He was an avid reader and played many hands of cards.

Norman is survived by his wife Karen and their children: Bryan and Lesa (Peterson) Euse of Osceola, Angela and Terry Kopecky of Malcom, Troy and Angie (Kohrs) Euse of Lincoln, Thad and Marge (Yrkoski) Euse of Silver Creek, Cori and CJ Swanson of Springfield; Grandchildren: Carson Euse, Madison Euse, Austin Kopecky, Taylor Kopecky, Brady Kopecky, Tyler (Alli) Euse, Alex Euse, Claire Euse, Patric (Erin) Euse, Rebecca (Seth) Hoffman, Matthew Euse, Nicholas Euse, Paxton Swanson and Dayton Swanson; Great Grand Children: Malakai Hernandez, Zailey Euse, TJ Euse, Oliver, Lucy and Cooper Euse, Merlyn and Harlyn Hoffman.

He is preceded in death by parents, stepmother Eva (Scow) Euse; sister and brother-in-law Marilyn and Keith (Skip) Houdersheldt; parent-in-laws, Russell and Bertha (Debaets) Smith.
