Obituary of Norman G Kirsch

Norman G Kirsch, 75, of Golden, passed away on Friday, January 16th, 2026. Norman was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many.

Norman was born on September 4th, 1950, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Norman T and Evelyn Kirsch. He graduated from the University of Illinois, Chicago with a BA. He then went on to graduate from DU, where he received his master's in social work, eventually receiving his Licensed Clinical Social Work certificate. He was an administrator of programs for Arapahoe County and the State of Colorado concerning child welfare. Norm was known for his compassion for children's welfare, as was seen in his work for the state of Colorado as a coordinator for Colorado State's collaborative management program for child welfare. When Norm was not working on collaborative management, he was volunteering as a firefighter for the Foothills Fire Department for 25 years, eventually serving time on their board of directors. Through his work in both the social work as well as volunteer firefighter communities, he fostered many lasting friendships.

Norm was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved to take his granddaughters on adventures around Colorado, as well as Hawaii and Disneyland. He is survived by his wife Marilyn, daughter Rachel (Keffin), granddaughters Evelyn and Delilah, sister Judy Danzinger (Howard), nieces Wendy Rosenbaum (Joel) and Erika Kohler (Aaron), nephew Chris (Blanca), sister-in-law Nedra Boyer and many cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Evelyn and Norman T.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 25 th, 11:00 AM at Feldman Mortuary Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for you to make a donation to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, Foothills Fire and Rescue, or the ADL Mountain States.

Marilyn and family,
I am heart broken to learn of Norm's passing. May his memory be a blessing forever. I carry a #530 master link from the motorcycle chain that carried me to 2411 S. Milwaukee at all hours of the night for our visits. I think of Norm and all the great times we had every day when I handle that link like the trip to the floor of Grand Canyon of The Gunnison and Long's Peak.I will always remember Kovel riding on the back of my 550 at The Teton's and when you and Norm pooled a bunch of quarters so I could rinse a weeks' worth of motorcycle road detrius off my foul smelling body! Norm always said my boot encased feet were the worst despite them getting bathed in every rainstorm I rode through. I remember his hearty laughter when we stopped at rest areas and the first thig I did was dump the water from my soaked boots! Norm was one of the best, most memorable characters I have ever been friends with and I am so sorry for the loss. He will stay with me forever especially when I ride my neighbors Ducati and imagine him back there riding pillion with an ear to ear grin and telling me to slow down!

I´m sorry we never got a chance to reconnect after I got sick. I can´t count how many calls we ran together out of the grapevine fire station. You were always one of my favorite people to work with and talk to. Rest easy, friend.
