Norman Lampton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cremation Society of Kansas & Missouri - Kansas City on Dec. 31, 2025.
Norman Walter Lampton, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri, at the age of 81.

Born on January 29, 1944, in Kansas City, Missouri, Norman was the cherished son of Marc Lampton and Alice Lampton (née Komer). He grew up alongside his siblings, Marcia Lampton Pearce (deceased), Lawrence Lampton, John Lampton (Deceased as an infant), and Glenn Lampton. Norman attended Rockhurst High School, Benedictine College, and later earned his law degree from the University of Missouri Kansas City Law School, setting the foundation for a diverse career.

Norman devoted much of his life to serving others through his work as an attorney, specializing in bankruptcy law and creditors' rights. Later in his career, he transitioned to the field of technology, excelling as a Data Warehouse Architect, before returning to the practice of law in his "retirement."

He also served his country honorably as a logistics officer in the United States Navy aboard the USS Midway, reflecting his deep sense of duty and patriotism.

Norman was dedicated to his community, volunteering with the Boy Scouts, the Optimists Club, and remaining active in his church. He believed in giving back and quietly made a difference in the lives of many.

Norman's greatest joy in life was his family. He is survived by his daughters, Nancy Louise Grube (née Lampton) and Susan Louise Lampton (Tom Osborne); his grandchildren, Elizabeth Louise Tahan (née Grube) (Paul Tahan), James Patrick Grube, Jr., and John Morgan Grube (Chas Grube); and two great-grandchildren. His quick wit, intelligence, and dry sense of humor lives on in each of them.

Norman was known for his sharp mind, quick wit, and knowledge of obscure facts. He had a passion for trains, enjoyed tying flies for fly fishing, and delighted in exploring history and sharing fascinating facts with those around him. A staunch Republican, he cared deeply for his country and held firm to his values and beliefs, believing firmly he was making the world a better place for future generations.

Norman's life will be celebrated privately by his family. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in his memory to your local no-kill animal shelter or state humane society, reflecting his compassion for all living creatures.
