Norman Gilbert "Gibby" Levin

Norman Gilbert ("Gibby") Levin, age 97. Everyone loved "Gibby". After graduating from Hyde Park High School, he obtained his accounting degree from Roosevelt University. Shortly thereafter, he was a founding partner of Wolin-Levin Inc., which became a Hyde Park-based real estate management institution where he worked into his 90s. He enjoyed the Blackhawks, Bears, symphony, opera, Wolfy's and Manny's Deli. Gibby was also a founding chair of the Jewish Federation Management Corporation (JFMC), part of the Jewish United Fund (JUF), and a board member of Roosevelt University. He was happily married to Shulamith ("Shellie") for 59 years. Together they traveled the world, many times with the whole extended family in tow. Pre-deceased were his parents William and Sarah (Pinckovitch), brothers Harold, Arthur and sister Lillian (Schaffner). Loving father to Robert (Linda), the late Barbara (Marc) Goldberg, and Julie (David) Freireich. He was loved by his six grandchildren, Jessica (Danny), Adina (Ismael), Aliza (Chelsea), Evan, Andrew, Hannah and great-grandchildren, Bradley, Asher, Scarlett, Cooper and Aleix. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jewish United Fund, www.juf.org.
