Norman Lynn Beadle, a retired U.S. military officer, decorated Vietnam Veteran, and devoted outdoorsman, husband and father passed away on September 5, 2025, at the age of 85.

Born into a proud Cajun family, Lynn carried his heritage with him throughout his life, but it was in Gatesville, Texas where he built his home, raised his family, and found his greatest joys.

He served his country with distinction as an officer in the United States Army, leading with courage and honor during the Vietnam War. His years in uniform shaped his character, and the bonds he formed with his fellow servicemen and his time spent traveling abroad remained among his proudest memories.

After retiring from military service, Lynn was a Texas Farm Bureau agent allowing him to make many lifelong friendships throughout Coryell County. In his spare time, he also embraced the waters of Texas, where he was an avid fisherman and boater. Whether casting a line at sunrise or steering his boat across the Bays, he was most at peace outdoors or in front of a big pile of crabs at Big Lake, LA. Family and friends knew him as someone who worked hard, lived fully, and never missed an opportunity to share a good story.

Above all Lynn will be remembered for his strength, generosity, and love for his family. He carried himself with quiet dignity, quick humor, and the kind of steadiness that left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.

Lynn is proceeded in death by his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Fuchs Beadle; parents, Norman William and Elsie Simar Beadle; mother and father-in-law, Henry and Gertrude Fuchs; sister, Normel Beadle France; brother Robert Breaux; brothers-in-law, David and Calvin Fuchs, and Delbert Meier.

He is survived by his sons, Duane (Rhonda) and John (Tracy) Beadle; 8 grandchildren, Jessica Burkman, Jordyn, Kourtney and Karley Beadle, Travis (Shelby), Justin, Stephen and John Christopher Beadle; and five great grandchildren, Levi Burkman, Cooper, Hallie and Jemma Beadle and Josie May. Lynn is also survived by his sisters-in law, Janice Fuchs Meier, Maryle Breaux; and brother-in law, Camille France.

A service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday September 13, 2025, with a holy rosary to be recited at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church in Vattmann, TX. He will be laid to rest with full military honors at the Our Lady of Consolation Cemetery along with his beloved Carolyn following mass. Following the burial the family invited everyone to the church hall for gumbo and fellowship.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Letty Gonzalez for the love, care and support she gave Lynn during the last year of his life.
