Norman Dale Partee, known to his friends and family as Dale, died peacefully on Tuesday, Feb 10th, after a brief illness.
Born in Social Circle, GA to Homer and Mary Jewel (Pannell) Partee, after graduation from Social Circle High School he joined the US Air Force and served as a code intercept operator based in Edinburgh, Scotland, and Tripoli, Libya.
He was introduced to his wife, Amanda Sullivan Partee, by a shared coworker at the Long Bank Note Company in Marietta. She continued her career at Lockheed, and he went on to start several successful businesses from which he retired in 2010. His children were the only kids in their elementary school who could spell entrepreneur.
He is survived by his son, Stuart and daughter-in-law Heidi Schulenberg, daughter Mariclair Partee Carlsen and son-in-law Mitch, and granddaughters Mary Ruby and Mae McLeod, who were the light of his final years. His wife Amanda died in 2021, and he was also preceded in death by beloved family dogs Dixie the Weimaraner and Beauregard and Myrtle the Beagles.
Dale had a presence larger than life. He was funny, thoughtful, loving, and generous above all else, and never turned down an adventure or a chance to spoil those he loved, whether human or canine. Arrangements will be made by West Cobb Funeral Home, with a service at the Georgia National Cemetery later in the year.
