Norman Stevens Tracy, Sr., 90, of Walkerton (Fish Lake), IN, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Norman was born on April 23, 1935, to Charles and Dorothy Tracy, previously of Michigan City, IN.

Norman was loved by so many and leaves behind a legacy that is still growing! He is survived by the love of his life, wife, Bonita "Bonnie" Tracy; two sons, Matthew Tracy and Norman (Sherri) Tracy Jr.; five daughters, Kristin (Steve) Kalil-Looney, Angela (Amanda) Tracy, Sierra Tracy, Alexis (Max) Tracy, and Izabella Tracy; special girl, Lila "Bean" Kalil; nine granddaughters, Krystal (Mark Jr.) Wert, Jennifer (Nathan) Stephenson, Amber (Lel III) Newlon, Tracy (Craig) Green, Payton Moison, Adelle (Preston) Wilcox, Jasmine (Randy) Spence, and Alyssa Tracy; two grandsons, Kayden (Amara) Tracy and Braidyn Henn; twenty great-grandchildren, Kaleb Dilts, Joshua Wert, Mark Wert III, Heaven Wert, Symphony Wert, Sara AI-Ansari, Melody Stephenson, Nadia Stone, Destin Newlon, Desiree Newlon, Lealand Newland, Silas Gappa, Violet Parker, Louis Parker, Adelle Malani Ward, Gracie Ward, Theo Rowe, Jaxon Nevills, Adeya Rowe, and Amara Baxely; brother, Gordon (Chris) Tracy; sister, Maryanne (Bob) Cullers; brother-in-law, Robert (Kathy) Kroening; sisters-in-law, Teresa Tankley, Ann Shirley, Helen Tracy, and Margaret (Art) Schweitzer; best friend, Michael (Elaine) Ashcraft; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Dorothy Tracy; brother, Donald (Helen) Tracy; son, Michael Tracy; grandchildren, baby boy Parker, Norman Tracy III, and Sophia Tracy; nephew, Ryan Tracy; and best friend, Wallace Lewis.

From 1954-1957, Norman proudly served in the United States Army, in the 501st Airborne Infantry, 101st Airborne Division. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 400 in Fish Lake, IN, for 40 years. Prior to his retirement, he worked in maintenance at Wiel McLain, Michigan City, IN.

Norman neither ever met a person that didn't call him friend, nor a child that didn't call him "Pa Pa", including his grandchildren who not only adored him, but also the chocolate chip pancakes he made! From one generation to the next, Pa Pa somehow knew and remembered everyone's favorite things. He will be fondly remembered for the sound of his famous "HelllOOO", which offered comfort and security, with each call he answered. Norman's presence was soothing and his humor was unmatched. He was the light in the dark, truly and endlessly.

He was known as a kind, gentle, and generous man, who enjoyed growing tomatoes and green peppers, giving nicknames to those he loved, and everything in-between. Norman also enjoyed playing his banjo and guitar, riding motorcycles, driving cars, watching sports, and collecting guns. Most importantly, he treasured being there for his family.

Norman loved attending the girls baseball games, school sports, and watching the La Porte Marching Band. He loved watching his grandchildren grow and succeed, build their families, and love their babies.

The family would like to thank Norman's dear friend, Jerry Stower, from down the road. Norman genuinely enjoyed Jerry's friendship and daily calls. The joy and friendship brought to Norman through their friendship is truly appreciated by the family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

A time of visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home. Cremation will take place following the service.
