Norrine Lunde Obituary

Norrine Maye Amunrud Lunde, beloved wife, mother, grandmother. great grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at Edgewood Memory Care in Billings, MT on November 6, 2025 surrounded by her children. She was born on August 29, 1938, to Roy and Norma Amunrud on the family farm north of Wibaux, Montana. Norrine was the cherished middle child among siblings Ronald, Marlene, Danny, and Luayne.
Growing up on the farm, Norrine developed a lifelong love for animals and the outdoors. She often spoke fondly of her favorite Shetland pony, Pet, and her little dog, both of whom brought her great joy. Life on the farm was full of adventure and laughter, and those early years shaped the spirited woman she became.
In the late 1950s, Norrine met the love of her life, Hans "Gordon" Lunde, a fellow farm kid from Hodges, just west of Wibaux. The two were married on June 26, 1960, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wibaux, the church she was a charter member of. Their marriage was filled with love, laughter, and shared passions-including square dancing, which Norrine proudly taught Gordon to enjoy.
Together, they raised four children: Naomi, Clint, Craig, and Shawna. Norrine embraced motherhood with unmatched devotion and joy. She was a constant presence at her children's and grandchildren's sporting events-football, basketball, softball, baseball, volleyball, track, cheerleading, and more-rarely missing a game. Her enthusiasm for the Wibaux Longhorns was lifelong and legendary.
Norrine was a joy to travel and shop with, always bringing laughter and light to every outing. Her sense of humor, warmth, and occasional tears of joy made every moment memorable.
Though she never held titles like lawyer, CEO, or senator, Norrine held the most important title of all: Mom. For 63 years, she poured her heart into her family, and she was truly exceptional at it.
Norrine will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the love she gave, the memories she created, and the family she cherished. She is survived by her daughter Naomi (James) Roberts of Wibaux, MT, sons Clint (Suri) Lunde of Billings, MT, Craig (Twila) Lunde, of Wibaux, MT and daughter Shawna (Doug) McCoskery of Billings, MT. She is also survived by her brothers Ronald Amunrud of Billings, MT, and Dan Amunrud of Sidney, MT, and sister Luayne Amunrud (Mike Rose) of Billings, MT, grandchildren: Tessa (Greg) Bailly, Beau (Alyssa) Roberts, Danny (Peyton) Neff, Robbie Neff, Tate Lunde, Hunter (Abby) McCoskery, Tel Lunde, Ashley McCoskery, Anikka Lunde and great-grandchildren Matthew and Marcus Bailly and one great-grandchild on the way.
Norrine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gordon and a brother Allen Dean Amunrud and sister Marlene Welliever.
Thank you to all the staff at Edgewood Memory Care where Mom was loved by them all, and called "Mrs. Edgewood". Also, a big thanks to St. John's United Hospice and their loving care to our Mom in her final days.
A celebration of Norrine's life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wibaux, MT on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in the Wibaux Cemetery. Silha Funeral Home of Wibaux has been entrusted with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Edgewood Memory Care or St. John's United Hospice both in Billings.
Remembrances and condolences may be shared with the family at: www.silhafuneralhomes.com.
